Practical + nervous-system-friendly prep for your Soul Session: wardrobe, intention, pacing, and what to do if you feel awkward.

How to Prepare for a Soul Session:

If you’re nervous, you’re normal.

Being photographed is vulnerable—especially when the session is designed to reveal something real. The goal isn’t perfection. The goal is presence.

Here’s how to prepare in a way that supports your body, your nervous system, and your expression.

1) Choose one intention (not a performance)

Instead of “I want to look hot,” try:

“I want to feel like myself.”

“I want to take up space.”

“I want to meet my softness.”

“I want to reclaim my voice.”

One honest sentence is enough.

2) Wardrobe: choose texture + truth. Pick pieces that feel like you on your most you day, a character you’re ready to embody, or a season you’re shedding or stepping into

Bring options. We’ll decide together.

3) Give yourself a softer day. If you can, don’t stack your Soul Session between errands and chaos. Leave space before (so you arrive regulated), and after (so you can integrate).

4) Practice one grounding ritual the week of. Simple is best; 3 minutes of breath, a slow walk, journaling one page, a bath, a playlist that feels like your inner soundtrack.

5) If you feel awkward—tell the truth

Awkwardness isn’t failure. It’s a doorway.

My job is to direct you with care, slow the pace, and create a safe container. You don’t have to push through.

You don’t need to “be confident.” You just need to be willing.
